Two Articles Diet You Should Read

At NetSweat, we believe that fitness not only involves exercise, but also additional factors, such as diet. This is why we like to regularly focus on nutrition - not just caloric intake, but rather what is actually going into the body.

Recently, we've come across recent articles may cause you think a bit differently the next time you go to the supermarket.

The first is an article that ran on the AP wires regarding antioxidants. Although there appears to be a general consensus that antioxidants are good, scientists have yet to understand how they actually work. More importantly, just because a food says it is high in antioxidants does not mean that eating will do your body any good. Click here to read the article.

The second article ran in last Sunday's Chicago Tribune and concerns the safety of seafood. Simply put, the fish at your grocery store may contain a considerably higher amount of mercury than you would ever want to consume in a single serving. This is a great article of investigative journalism and is a must read. Click here to see the article.
