How to Separate Your Kids From Halloween Candy

We just came across a great article in Barrons about how to get your kids to give up their Halloween candy. (Subscription required).

Here are some of the tips listed in the article:
  1. Offer to buy the candy from your kids. (NetSweat suggestion: A video game may cost a lot less than dentist visits.)
  2. Trade excess candy for something else that the kid wants, such as a later bedtime.
  3. Younger kids might enjoy making artwork with the candy.
  4. Set a deadline for getting the candy out of the house (e.g. Thanksgiving).
