Black Cohosh Not Effective

The Annals of Internal Medicine said yesterday that black cohosh is ineffective for treating symptoms associated with menopause. The study tracked 351 women for one year and found the herb safe, but failed to provide any more relief than a placebo.

NetSweat.com Comments: This is yet another study refuting claims of a herbal treatment. While some herbal treatments are likely effective, the hype surrounding the majority of herbs is largely unfounded. If you are considering an herbal supplement, do as much research as you possibly can on both the herb and the manufacturer.
