Watch More TV, Gain More Weight

Cancer Research UK tracked more than 6,000 adolescents over a five-year period to see what effect television viewership had on physical fitness. The results were not surprising. As the kids got older, they watched more TV. And as they watched more television, they became less physically active and put on more weight.

NetSweat.com Comments: Television and computers are material contributors to Britain's and America's bulging waistlines. We realize that few are willing to give up The Office (and neither are we, for that matter), but viewership needs to be put in balance. Either place restrictions or put a piece of exercise equipment, such as a treadmill, in front of the television. Simply put, the entertainment value of watching TV is not worth comprising your health.
