Yoga-Related Injuries

Yoga can improve overall health, but like any exercise, it does have the potential to create injuries, as an article from the suburban Chicago Herald-News points out. Proper form is especially important in yoga, since doing a pose incorrectly can cause strain on muscles and joints.

If you've never practiced yoga before, attend several classes and listen to what the instructor says. Yoga DVDs are good, but unlike a class, there is no instructor to make modifications when you're doing a pose incorrectly.
