Dieting May Increase Your Cravings for Chocolate
Women who diet may crave chocolate and other "forbidden foods" than women who didn't diet, according to a study published in the March issue of Appetite.
Researchers surveyed 85 women, showing them images of chocolate or other non-food products. Women who either were dieting or had been dieting in the past were more likely to crave chocolate.
NetSweat.com comments: This study was done on a small sample group, so the results should be taken within that context. Plus, it is not known what percentage of the women on diets were eating chocolate regularly before going on the diet. Nonetheless, if you are dieting and crave chocolate, we will point out that a nugget size bar of Hershey's dark chocolate only has 55 calories - so you can have one piece of chocolate a day without blowing your diet.
