Keep Yourself Hydrated

With Memorial Day weekend just a few days away, the temperatures across the Northern hemisphere is about to get hot. With heat comes the risk of heatstroke and one of the best ways to avoid heatstroke is to drink lots of water, often.

Even if you are just walking around, you should increase your consumption of water. Hot temperatures cause dehydration as the body sweats to keep its temperature down. In dry climates, you may not even realize how much you quickly you are dehydrating because sweat can quickly evaporate.

We suggest carrying a bottle of water with you at all times. If you are going to be outside for more than 30-45 minutes, you may want to consider a hydration system. We use the
CamelBak MULE Hydration Pack
and like it not only for the amount of water that it can carry, but also because it allows us to carry other items such as a camera, cell phone and sunblock.

I've found a great hydration drink called The Juice Doctor. I had the pomegranate flavour and it really worked. It's difficult to drink my daily 2 litres of water, as I get a bit bored of the taste but this was good and no sugar!
